I was surprised to read recently that one of the most influential factors in determining the level of education a child will pursue is the number of books in their home, even more so than the parents’ education level or occupation. I agree that it’s important to have plenty of books lining our walls; not just any books, but GOOD books, including classics and your own personal favorites.
