I was surprised to read recently that one of the most influential factors in determining the level of education a child will pursue is the number of books in their home, even more so than the parents’ education level or occupation. I agree that it’s important to have plenty of books lining our walls; not just any books, but GOOD books, including classics and your own personal favorites.
Usborne Books is a great source for high-quality, beautifully illustrated, award-winning books to add to your collection. Their mission statement:
The future of our world depends on the education of our children. UBAM delivers educational excellence one book at a time. We provide economic opportunity while fostering strong family values. We touch the lives of children for a lifetime.
Our local Usborne Books consultant, Maria White, is available for in-home parties, school fundraisers, or direct orders. She would be happy to provide recommendations for the best books for your child based on their age, reading abilities, and interests.
In addition to picture and chapter books for kids of all ages, from babies through middle school, Usborne Books offers activity kits, games, flashcards, seasonal books, and greeting cards. In fact, you can get this cute Big Box of Cards set (ages 5 and up) including 30 “handmade all occasion, individually designed and embellished greeting cards and coordinating envelopes in a keepsake box” for only $24.95!
Check Maria’s website often for internet-only specials and contests. I just entered to win $50 in books on her site!
