The Colorado Springs Philharmonic presents:
The Planets
8:00pm Mar. 10, 2012
Thomas Wilson, conductor
Wonder in amazement as the heavens come to life with Holst’s The Planets, Stravinsky’s Fireworks, and Gandolfi’s The Garden of Cosmic Speculation.
If you’re looking for a fun idea for a date night, consider surprising your special someone with tickets to the Colorado Springs Philharmonic! My husband and I are planning to attend The Planets, and here are a few more on the schedule:
- Tiempo Libre, March 17: Grammy®-winning Cuban ensemble Tiempo Libre will transport you to the streets of Havana, including favorites such as Guantanamera, Son de la Loma, and dance-worthy cha-cha-chas.
- Passion Light Eternal, Good Friday Special Event, April 6: A glowing evening featuring Lauridsen’s Lux Æterna, Haydn’s The Passion, excerpts from Brahms’ A German Requiem, and more.
- Rachmaninoff, April 14 and 15: Maestro Caballé-Domenech opens with Walton’s turbulent First Symphony and closes with the concerto that secured Rachmaninoff’s greatness.
Two winners will each win a pair of tickets to see The Planets concert on March 10!
